June 6-28: Arclight Repertory Theater presents Twelfth Night, the headlining act in the first annual Shakespeare on the Square Festival in downtown San Jose. Shakespeare’s romantic comedy of mistaken identity and bad karma takes an Indian twist, set on the ancient Indian island of Illyria. June 19-July 13: Northside Theater Co. presents Picasso at the Lapin Agile. This long running, off-Broadway comedy by Steve Martin places Albert Einstein and Pablo Picasso in a Parisian cafe in 1904. The meeting takes place just before Einstein changed physics with his Theory of Relativity and Picasso turned the art world upside down with Cubism. He may have written some of the most famous plays in English literature, but Oscar Wilde’s heartbreaking and riveting personal life was also front and center during one of the most controversial moments in history.
