| Ice skating under the stars in California may sound like a pie-in-the-sky idea, but the San Jose Downtown Association has been making it a reality every winter for the past 13 years. Back again November 14 through January 11, Downtown Ice is the South Bay’s largest seasonal outdoor skating rink. Located in the heart of the city in the Circle of Palms between the Fairmont Hotel and the San Jose Museum of Art, it draws more than 40,000 skaters and countless spectators every year. Admission to the 8,100 square-foot rink ($15; 12 & under: $13) includes skate rentals and unlimited ice time. Head down and join in on this fun San Jose tradition—no matter your age, Downtown Ice will make you feel like a kid again and, above all, get you in the holiday spirit.
